Axios Tampa Bay Spotlights MEP Participant

Axios Tampa Bay launched its new feature “Untold Tampa Bay” spotlighting the Chamber’s Minority Empowerment Program participant Javier Rodriguez, co-founder of Wing Boys.

Reporter Yacob Reyes explained how Rodriguez’ traumatic arrival in the U.S. as a 7 year old boy during the Mariel Boatlift in 1980 fuels his entrepreneurship dream.

ABC Action News Interviews Chamber President/CEO Bob Rohrlack

The Chamber’s Minority Empowerment Program was featured during ABC Action News’ visit to Wing Boys. Interviewed for the feature story, Dr. Bob Rohrlack explained how MEP participants like Javier Rodriguez and Angelica Torres can access a network of Chamber resources that are designed to help them grow and scale. 

Spanish Language Media Spotlights MEP Participant

Tampa Hoy’s Spanish language newscast on WFLA TV/WB38 featured the Chamber’s Minority Empowerment Program participant, Javier Rodriguez of Wing Boys. Reporter Vladimir Kislinger told the story of Rodriguez arriving in the U.S. during the Mariel Boatlift 43 years ago this month and now living the American Dream with help from Chamber’s MEP program.

Charley’s World lands at Wing Boys

The Fox 13 Tampa Bay news crew arrived “dark & early” at the Citrus Park Mall on May 10th for more than half a dozen live shots from Wing Boys. The participant of the Chamber’s Minority Empowerment Program was interviewed by reporter Charley Belcher starting at 6AM and on Good Day Tampa Bay. Wing Boys founders Javier Rodriguez and Angelica Torres shared their family’s immigrant story, how the Chamber’s MEP program is helping them live the “American Dream” and even created a brand-new wing recipe – the Belcher 13.
